To vote, you must register in your county of residence.  Voter registration must be submitted at least 30 days prior to an election, in order to vote in that election.

Qualifications

• Citizen of the United States
• Resident of the County
• 18 years of age on the day of election
• Must not have been declared mentally incompetent by a court
• Must not have been convicted of a felony (or, if convicted, have received a certificate of discharge or have been pardoned)

Locations

In Harris County, voter registration is the responsibility of the Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector's office (phone:713-368-2200; www.co.harris.tx.us).  Applications and all other aspects of the voter registration may be handled in one of the following ways:

• By mail
• In person
• In substations throughout the area
• Driver's License Bureau and other public agencies.

Please remember to return all mail-in ballots before Election Day, November 3rd.
