For the Elderly

Dear God,

We are the people who have enjoyed the freedom of living independently and so we struggle against the limitations of age.  As we grow older we find ourselves needing help to do activities we once did by ourselves.  Show us how to grow old gracefully with the courage to ask for help and selflessness to still spread the joy because we are Your children in Christ.  We ask for Your special blessings on those who work and reside in care facilities for elderly people.

In the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

For the World

Dear God,

We thank You for the ability to explore this wonderful world.  Help us to reflect Christ as we deal with the responsibility of caring for it and for ourselves as well.

In Jesus' name.  Amen.

For Government

Father,

We thank You for this great country in which we live.  I want to thank You for the opportunities for freedoms that we have.  I also want to thank You for the opportunity to be involved in what happens in our nation.  Now we know that You are sovereign over the political realms of men and yet You invite us to be participants with You.  So, will You govern Your people as You govern this nation?

Move it into righteousness so that the blessing  of God will be upon it and not the curse of God.  Raise up righteous men and women on both sides of the isle who will represent Your interest and Your kingdom. 

Thank You for not allowing us to shun so critical an issue.
